Education & Training
Dr. Latham’s journey to becoming a premier plastic surgeon in Anchorage, Alaska, began with her undergraduate studies at Princeton University. She went on to earn her medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.
Following medical school, Dr. Latham completed a general surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio and a plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. She further specialized in craniofacial surgery through a fellowship at Seattle Children’s Hospital.

Passionate About Giving Back
Dr. Latham is passionate about giving back to her patients and her country. She actively participates in medical missions and volunteer programs, providing reconstructive surgery to underserved populations internationally. She has done so for more than 25 years and was recognized in 2023 with the American College of Surgeons Military Surgical Volunteerism Award.
She received the USUHS Alumni of the Year Award in 2022 and team recognition for the Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Hero Award in 2020, with her patient winning the Patient of Courage award. Dr. Latham’s philanthropic efforts underscore her belief in the transformative power of surgery to change lives for the better.
Distinguished Military Career
Dr. Latham joined Plastic Surgeons of Alaska after more than 27 years in the United States Air Force. She retired from the USAF as a Colonel and OEF/OIF Veteran, with her last assignment as Deputy Chair of Surgery at USUHS/ Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
In her military career, Dr. Latham demonstrated excellence in leadership, mentorship, education, and patient care. She served as a Squadron Commander and the Director of the Walter Reed and Portsmouth Naval Craniofacial Teams. Her core values continue to shine through in everything she does:
